Four of a family from Bengal die in Karnataka road accident

PTI | 07:02 PM,Feb 10,2013 Mandya, Feb 10 (PTI) Four persons of a family from West Bengal died and five others were injured when their car hit a road divider and turned turtle near here today, police said. The victims, natives of Fufura village in Hawla district of West Bengal were proceeding from Bangalore to Mysore for a holiday when the mishap occurred at T M Hosur gate near Srirangapatna, 16 km from here. While three persons died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries in a hospital. The five injured have been admitted to a government hospital in Mysore and are stated to be "out of danger", police told PTI. The deceased were identified as Ghulam Rasool Mandal (46), Mohammad Najim Ali Khandekar (24), Mohammad Nahim Ali Khandekar (21) and Mohammad Rahmatullah Khandekar (36). The mishap occurred when the driver lost control over of the vehicle and hit against a divider. IGP Southern Range K Ramachadra Rao visited the spot, while Additional Superintendent of Police Rajanna supervised the rescure operations. PTI BH VS ASY TRK

Four persons were killed and three others injured when a Tata Sumo van in which they were traveling collided with Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus at T M Husur, near Srirangaptana in the district today. Police said the mishap occurred the van was proceeding to Mysore from Bangalore while the KSRTC bus was coming from Mysore. Three persons were killed on the spot and another person succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital. Injured have been admitted to K R Hospital in Mysore. The victims belong to Bapujinagar in Bangalore and names not yet known.
Srirangapatna police registered a case. Meanwhile Mandya division KSRTC authorities have announced Rs 50,000 compensations to the deceased family members. UNI BSP AKM RSS1336 NNNN

Four people were killed and six were injured when the multi-utility vehicle in which they were travelling jumped the median and fell on the other side of the Bangalore-Mysore highway at T.M. Hosur near Srirangapatna around 11 a.m. on Sunday.
The police said the group from Kilari Road in Chickpet, Bangalore, was going to Mysore.
The police identified the dead as Gulam Rasul Mondal (46), Mohammed Nazim Ali (24), Mohammed Nayim Khandekar (21) and Mohammed Rehmathulla Khandekar (36).
The injured are Azgar Ali Khandekar (48), Mohammed Nayim (20), Mohammed Wasim Ali Khandekar (35), Mohammed Adbul Sathar Khandekar (18), Shamina Begum (20) and the driver, Magesh (30).
They are natives of West Bengal and work as daily wage labourers with goldsmiths, the police said. “The driver lost control and the vehicle rammed a KSRTC bus before jumping the median and toppling on the other side of the highway,” a police officer said.
The vehicle was mangled and the victims were trapped inside. The local residents and the police took nearly 30 minutes to extricate the bodies, the driver of a car that was following vehicle, said.
The injured were rushed to a hospital in Mysore. The bodies were shifted to the Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital.
The police have registered a case against Magesh.
Traffic was disrupted for some time on the highway following the accident.
